  • Many regime opponent journalists and authors welcome the New Year in jails throughout the world and also in Turkey. As Solidarity with Arrested Journalists Platform; we celebrate the New Year of the authors and journalists who are under arrest now throughout our land and the world and wish that they will regain their freedom as soon as possible.

    They were arrested because they defend the freedom of idea and expression, freedom of the Press, the right of getting news of folksnbk, the right of sentence, action, and organization of the folks…

    They were arrested because they are regime opponent and press laborers who are in love with freedom…

    We can be in solidarity with sending a postcard to 22 arrested authors and journalists; among whom are Ibrahim Çiçek, the manager of general press of Atilim, Sedat Senoglu the coordinator of press of Atilim, Füsun Erdogan the general coordinator of broadcast of Ozgur Radio; Suat Kolca the owner of Ozgur Halk magazine and Memik Horuz the general manager of press of İsçi Koylu newspaper.

    We can go beyond the isolation walls of F Type Prisons with our cards and pay a visit to them.

    We can make the sense that they are not alone; we can put together our hearts with their’s, we can lighten the isolation conditions a little bit.

    Many of the imprisoned journalists and writers in prisons of Turkey (17 of them) have been arrested with the attack of the law called by public as “Law of Struggle with the Society” in fact law of struggle with terror, TMY, which is applied in last September.

    Cancel the TMY law and 301.item in constitution which prevent right of idea and expressing ideas!
