- The Arabic Hour (USA) : Discussion of the Anti Defamation League (ADL) position on the Armenian Genocide. In response to the controversy that erupted last July in Watertown, MA over ADL’s position on the Armenian Genocide and implications for this community’s sponsorship of ADL’s “No Place for Hate” school-based program, Abe Foxman (ADL president) issued a statement denying the Armenian Genocide at the hands of the Ottoman Turks. Later he said that perhaps the events of that time (1915 on) could be described as a consequence of war and tantamount to Genocide. He refused to commit ADL to supporting a US Congressional Resolution acknowledging the Genocide, stating it would be counter-productive. Discussing these developments with Elaine Hagopian is Armenian-American artist Varteni, Narini Badalian, and longtime community activist, Hilda Silverman. PLAY VIDEO 09/15/07 PLAY AUDIO
